Yo. I just got my Vista a few days ago, and have also just downloaded CS2D on it. When i tried running the exe. file, it loaded up until intializing and it froze. It didn't even get up to the Unrealsoftware logo. Is there a fix for this? Is CS2D compatible with Vista?

Yes it is and it works fine at my laptop with vista. maybe you should try the windowed bat or right click on the exe and change the compability settings.

I tried playing on compatibility mode (Windows XP Service Pack 2) and ran it it on as administrator, but still no luck. Don't know why it's not working. >_>

First, Re-Download CS2D. Then extract everything in the CS2D .rar/.zip onto the DESKTOP. After that, right click on CounterStrike2d.exe and click on properties. You should see four tabs: General, Compatibility, Security, and Details. Click on Security. Then press "Edit..." A window should now be opened. Make sure all the permissions at the bottom are NOT CHECKED UNDER DENY! Now go to the Compatibility tab. Click on "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and choose "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)". Then at the bottom of the window, click on "Run this program as an administrator". Then click on "Show settings for all users. Then press continue. Once the window has opened, click on "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and choose "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)". Then at the bottom of the window, click on "Run this program as an administrator". Now, press "Apply", then "OK". Then press "Apply" again, then "OK" again. Then right click on CounteStrike2d.exe and click on "Run as administrator" and press continue. This should fix the Vista problem.

@Lee: Well i'm pretty sure all the drivers are installed. I have no problem with that.

@Windows Vista: I tried all that you said, still nothing. Thanks anyway.

I might never return.

I know, I saw [TGV] Vs. [A41]. But right before I got in, CS2D froze and I was forced to close it =/. My console was like clear with only the letters rather than the normal black color. I'll find a way soon.

This a simple tutorial on how to fix game compatibility issues.

Operating system issues
As you probably now already the are a lot of compatibility issues when running certain games on vista to correct this.

1. Use your right mouse button and click on the exe you want fix now a mini menu will open click properties

2. Click on the Compatibility tab and put a check in the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box and the "Run program as an administrator" boxes then select Windows XP (Service Pack 2)

3. Click apply Now this should fix the problem.

Graphics issues

Sometimes when running a game you can get messages saying your graphics card doesn't meet the minimum specs. Or the game starts then crashes. This should fix most of these problems.

1. Download and start 3danalyze
2.Start 3danalyze
3.Click Select now a window will open navigate to the exe of the game your trying to play.
Example
So in this case the game exe I want to play is in C:\programs\ubisoft\GearboxSoftware\brothers in arms\system
so I clicked on the Bia.exe and clicked open
4. Now put a check in the boxes emulate HW TnL Caps, Emulate other dc8.1 caps, emulate pixel shader caps, and force high precision pixels.
This is the setting that will work with all games.

5. Click save batch file a window will open asking what you want to name the batch file & where you want to save it to save it to your desktop. Now go to your desktop and double click the batch file you just created. This will start the game. (In order to play the game you will have to use that bat on you desktop to run it)
