Topic 1:
I was wondering how host a dedicated server where a user can play in it without pay for it (for free) and also, how make more of one dedicated server.

Topict 2:
I was checking on some posts about that you've to pay to host a dedicated server even when your computer is off!

For the ones who really care the second topic give me your opinion about this simple question:
Do you think that USGN or CS2D should make something really cool so we can host dedicated servers even when our PC is off?

Thanks for reading Be happy.

hi Recon07 !

to your first "topic":

first:
Running a Dedicated Server at your PC at Home is FREE!
CS2D is Freeware. 100%. The Dedicated Server Software, too.
You can Download it here:

http://www.cs2d.com/download.php
Please look for "Dedicated Server for Windows" If you wanna run the Server from your Windows Home PC. If you have installed Linux or Mac, Download the Linux/Mac Dedicated.

And please read this Post:

It is realy realy realy important that you read it and do everything ! Do not skip a point.

And now how it works:
A Dedicated Server is a normal CS2D Server. Like the "New Game" option ingame. Whats different? If youre running a Dedicated Server and turn of your CS2D, your Server will still be online. Cool stuff, or isnt it?
The problem: When you shut your PC down, your Server is down, too. Because your Dedicated Server isnt running then,too.....

To your question about how to run more then 1 Server at the same time:
Use different Ports for each Server! Create 2 different CS2D Folders. Go to the Server.cfg and change the Port. Please make shure that you forward the port from every single Server!

To your second "topic":

Yeah, they are some "companys" who host CS2D Servers wich are 24/7. And yeah, you have to pay for them. They dont hosts Servers for fun, they host it to get money. Your Money. And if you ask me: Too much. They arent registred companys. If you wanna buy one its your decision.

I hope I was helpfull.

> running cs2d on a real server (which is basically a pc which runs all the time but which stands in a server center and not at your home) is the only way to achieve this.

> running a pc (or a server) costs money.

> Unreal Software has no money because we offer everything for free

> conclusion: impossible to offer something like this for free. there is nothing "really cool" we could do about that.. sorry.
