Sorry for creating these topics, this will be my last now for a while.
So its been all over the world about Turkey shooting down Russian planes, so lets talk about it and tell own opinion about it. I understand that this may lead to arguments but lets see.

I did a lot of research about this, read multiple news and watched both sides. Turkey warned them 10 times, it was confirmed but was they at Turkey or Syria, i think they were flying at Turkey and didnt turn back when they got warned and did fly over Turkey for little time. Now if you watch older Russian conflicts, there were pretty similar to this ones. Russia is known for making a lot of excuses and lies. So what do you think?

PS, poll can be removed if it leads to someone getting mad

Closing this as it seems this forum is not mature enough to discuss such events.

@user Alpha Beta: Thats actually true aswell, expect everyone is in Syria so i think it doesnt matter now.

It does matter, because it shows how the defensive structures normally react when a jet violates a foreign airspace. And it's still uncertain in our case whether the bomber actually was flying over Turkish territory.

Even if they were fearing the bomber to attack a target on Turkish territory, they must have been (or should have been if their airforces are slow and crap) intercepted it on the way to the target and not on the return flight.

Turkey's letter to UN. More details indicated that SU-24:

1) The pilot received 10 warnings for 5 minutes.
2) The bomber flew 1,8 kilometers in 17 seconds at an altitude 5,8 kilometers in Turkish airspace.

Take in hand calculator and count. 1.8 / 17 * 3600 = 381 kilometers per hour. This is speed of Russian Su-24, according to Turkey Air Force. It is very close to the stall speed (210-220km/h) at normal height, so at high altitude to compensate it bomber must fly much faster, especially during combat missions, and maximum speed of this machine is 1700km/h.

So I suggest you make your own conclusions.
