Hello survivors. After 10 years, I wanted to again engage in creative work with S 2.
Last time I was an ordinary schoolboy and the whole essence of my mods was to steal content from other mods and combine them. But now I want to create something of my own, tell me if there are any guides on how to make models for S2?

How to open a model in * .b3d? I downloaded Milk3d and Blender, but they do not want to open the * .b3d. Maybe you need additional plugins?

Sorry for my English, I used google translation

I'm really sorry but I'm afraid I can't help you with this. Last time I worked with Milkshape 3D was like 10 years ago and I don't even have it installed right now...

Only guessing here:

Did you set UVs for the canister properly? Are you maybe in a wrong rendering mode in Milkshape (there are modes which display the model without texture like in your video).

No idea about the cork. Maybe some material settings are wrong.

if you are interested in trying something new i recommend DeleD here:

http://delgine.com/index.php?filename=product_deled

It has an Importer and Exporter plugin available on the same page at the "Check out plugins" link on the right for .B3D Download them and add them to the plugins folder. (also for .3DS and others)

DeleD will not do animations correctly but is great for items & objects. Any textures/materials you use, you have to add them directly to the DeleD textures folder BEFORE LOADING A MODEL from stranded...to prevent a loading model error "no texture found".

Once you have the model made and materials assigned EXPORT AS .B3D from the dropdown menu. Same for loading a B3D, only IMPORT AS B3D from the dropdown menu.

Good Luck!

p.s. there is an important step in assigning the material...click the materials button and set the material to alphablend, solid color, or normal etc. like tree leaves need to be set to alpha so only leaves show and not the background...or glass/clear materials needs to be set to alphablend etc...you may have to experiment a little at first until you get the hang of it.

@user JasJack67: Thank you.
I have one more question. Can I use the work of other modders in their modifications? Is it possible to take someone else's work as a basis and change it?

@user Malzar: You always need permission to use work of others. Either via license / some written statement in a readme or something like that or by asking the original creator for permission.

Never just use stuff made by others without having permission. You are risking to violate law (copyright infringement).

Wilson Sporting Goods didn't make the stranded 2 volleyball model or the material/texture for it. Yes, It represents that Wilson ball in the movie Cast Away...or does it?...but WSG didn't make the skin or the model.

So the real question is: "Can we use the volleyball model DC made? yes, he said everything here is freeware, and gave us permission"

Since Stranded is a free game and DC didn't make a shit ton of money on it commercially, they have no reason to pursue him for legal reasons pertaining to using the Wilson logo/trademark.

If, for my mod, I make a model of a soda can, and I put a texture on it that is red and says Coca-Cola... do ya think anyone would sue me if my mod is free and there is no profit money from it? Even still, I made the game model, not The Coca Cola Bottling Co., you should ask me to use my model.

I found out that I have no modeling talent. Maybe there are people who know milkship and are ready to draw a few models for money? Write at once how much money would you like for some simple models of objects and objects, without animation?

Can you provide a list here of models you want made? I don't want money, but maybe i can help with a few of them, or provide some already free ones in some cases.

I don't know about user Malzar, but I would like to see some models improved. Specifically the carnivorous plant among other things. I have tried but haven't succeeded in making it better (in fact I made it worse)

I want to create a mod - plastic age. The sea brings a lot of garbage to the shores of modern islands. This trash will be a source of valuable resources for the survivor.
First of all you need plastic bottles. I found a free model on the Internet, but when I change parts of the model, another part loses its translucency and becomes invisible in the game.
Plastic bottles:
- Empty 1 liter bottle
- A bottle of water, wine, juice, poison, medicine.
-The bottle filled with drinks on 3/4, 2/4, 1/4.
- Bottles 0.5 liters.
- Solar distiller from plastic bottles.
- Fish trap from a plastic bottle.
Other trash:
- I found a free tire model, but it has strange proportions.
- I made a plastic 5l. the canister from the first-aid kit.
- Need a metal model 20l. cans.
- In principle, I will be glad to models of any garbage that can throw the surf ashore.

Have you searched online about the translucency problem? Or is there some setting that says something about 'alpha' or somesuch?

Here you can see some solar distillers in progress. You build the empty distiller....add some wet seaweed...the sun heats up the air inside and produces water droplets that drain into the bottle via bamboo...using scripts to change the models as the player uses them...like when he takes a full bottle the model is replaced with the empty model to start a new.

Then various bottle of liquids from empty to full, all consisting of 0%/25%/50%/75% and 100% full...some not shown in this photo but are in the zip file below.

∗ All these models should be scaled in their definitions at scale=0.35 at normal size.

Keep in mind you can add scaling example(scale=0.5) and color example(color=200,200,200) in the definitions and create as many different colors and sizes of just about anything you want.

This fish trap would only catch the smallest of fish and should be set to BUILD IN WATER just like the boats or the docks in regular stranded...or not, if you have other scripting ideas.

Below is the zip file, you should unpack it with WINRAR free from google:
> plastic_bottle_models

If i have time i will try some other models when i can and post them here...if you have other ideas list them because I don't know what your really looking for otherwise.
