I was wondering if there is still a modding community active for cs2d. That creates maps, scripts, etc.
I would love to create one for cs2d where people could submit, download, review, etc community content for cs2d. I originally created such a platform for assaultcube, so it would be easy to make a fork for cs2d. That would be my way to give something back to this great game. And integrating Steam Workshop would be a real hassle because of the game being made in a Blitz language.
If wanted I can post a video of the assaultcube platform, so you can get a general idea how it would be.

Why would you create something new for functions that have already been officially implemented?
In my opinion it would be better to develop and promote the existing community, to try to cooperate with other similar games to improve the level and quality of content.

I would rather do a crowdfunding campaign for ads on Facebook and YouTube to promote CS2D back to its glory days. This would be a more effective way to bring attention to the game and potentially attract more modders to the community, rather than just creating a platform for community content. However, I do understand the appeal of creating a platform for people to submit, download, and review content. Integrating Steam Workshop may be difficult due to the game being made in Blitz language, but it is worth considering as it could potentially expand the reach of the modding community. Regardless, I would definitely be willing to support such a campaign with a few thousand dollars.

@user Gaios: I would prefer to spend money on fixing this game first (or rewrite to another game engine) than promoting on social media. The game is unplayable for the current pc gen.

Probably about monitor Hz/FPS limit, also the game still have many bugs since those new features were added.

In this days getting a 144hz monitor is kinda cheap, not to mention 240hz in some brands. Now open cs2d, the game locks at 60fps with 60hz(!) which creates screen tearing and a poor gameplay experience for people who good decent pcs.

And other annoying bugs like:
-> Alt + tab Directx creates a "mini window" in desktop
-> Can't screenshot ingame with other resolutions (bugged images)
-> And so on...

Normaly I open cs2d for 10 mins and quit after that because is impossible to play with this conditions. Now tell how you can promote a game like this?

There are many games that are locked to 60FPS and that are still highly played.
CS2D isn't as bad as you're making it out to be.

CS2D is just old.

@user Mami Tomoe: Can you name multiplayer games which are 60fps @ 60hz locked and still popular? I want to know.

Yes it is. Like I said and gonna repeat again unplayable for the current pc gen. The only way I could get a decent experience is getting my craptop back and install the game.

Is old yes but could be still played by a large number of people if someone knows how to do the things correctly. The game was carried by the whole community so hard until the steam launch, the only guy I can thank is simonas. Without him the game was running 640x480 @ 50fps.
People get upset after many years and start leaving, don't be surprised.

Facebook xd

Advertising to Facebook boomers would only work if CS2D was a browser game, I'm afraid.
