Made a small palisade citadel kind of house. Used the map made by Crystalwarrior, named Mountain island as a base environment set, for the house.
Modified relief, colors, added more vegetation, flowers...and the house.
Stranded 2 is a superb game, for a free, 30 mb game...keep it up. I'll give Counter-Strike 2D a try.
@ Seekay: It sure looked like you implied that.
ITT is never used to make threads inside threads. It's used to announce the topic of the thread.
But nevermind, let's end this now.
In This Thread is ususally used to make threads inside threads. (Like this: Link) On Unreal Software that doesn't make sense because it's against the rules. Just like this conversation. But hell, nobody made any rules about these 3 words, so go ahead and use it for other stuff. Just like yolo.
And I never implied that ALL Stranded maps are computer-generated. That came out of your mind.
@ Seekay: How is it wrong? Oh, wait, it isn't. In This Thread can be applied to any conversation. Herp.
Wat. So you're saying that all Stranded maps are computer-generated? Oh man.
Ikr? Disliking a file is so evil. Also using ITT wrong, great job.
Seriously though, this map is boring. Maybe it looks good, but hell, it's Stranded II. You just need a few simple mouse clicks and boom, a beautiful map gets generated. It's not like in CS2D where you have to place every tile and entity by your own in order to make a good looking map.
I agree with Hurri04 absolutely.
This winter I tried a lot of mods, that I could find, and most of them were so pointless(maybe even unfinished). I mean, there was a lot of work in making the new models or developing the system with fancy scripts, but without an adventure, it isn't more then some artwork (and IT work, of course).
That's why I suggested the packaging system to S3.
@ Yates: in my eyes the problem is that after years of playing S2 I cant play a map without anything to do anymore.
even a random map would probably be better than this because you have the task of gathering some resources to survive but there's already a huge-ass suppy here.
if a map however has at least a simple little story and some easy to medium tasks I am more willing to play it properly.
now e.g. collection-tasks where you have to get x pieces of item y are usually the easiest, therefore also the most widely used, therefore the most annoying ones because you dont really need skill for that. it's even more bothersome if you have to find the items which are hidden and scattered across the island.
next up are killing-tasks. same principle, go somewhere and kill something. no skill needed.
then there are puzzles/quizes where you need to figure out the solution by yourself. those are not as annoying because you actually need to think here. or at least the tasks should be designed in a way that you have to. such ones that allow to brute-force them by trying every single way until one works are of a lesser quality again.
but to get to the point: this map has none of these, not even collection-tasks!
it is bad and if you want to have something that "looks nice" then go to an arts museum or something.
@ Seekay: No? This map looks nice and I use the built in cheats on SII anyway. Rocket Launcher is my best friend.
Still worth the like in my eyes.
Also, Alecsunder, I approve your shotgun
@ Hurri04: Stranded and CC are not ready for awesome maps that have been worked on to improve your gameplay. They are fun, bright, happy and don't need any tactics or gameplay improving things because they are not seriously played. Name me one person that has started a CC or Stranded II clan to take things seriously and start little "build your house first" or CC clan wars. So until that happens, my like stays.
Maybe in Stranded III with multiplayer where people massively play it together. But not now.
not a single script no story no task to do totally fucked up heightmap which causes the terrain at the mountain in the middle to be steeper than what should be possible to climb about the same for the "house" area lots of random supplies in storages, therefore not even a challenge for the player to survive
I could probably throw such a map together by myself in 10 minutes.
0/10 would not recommend.
@ Alecsunder: dont upload your first maps with which you just experiment how the editor works. upload something good.
@everone below: you should be ashamed to be abusing the rating system like this. you probably didnt even download this map
