anyways you can just copy-paste the files...
It just overwrites existing files if you run the executable.
If you download the ZIP and just replace the old with the updated (from ZIP) binary you should be fine.
EDIT: Well that sucked. My skins got erased.

Create a backup folder with your skins and maps and other settings BEFORE updating
I think you got it wrong and used the installer. that's not what I talked about. I talked about REPLACING the CounterStrike2D.exe file ONLY (download the zip archive, extracting the exe file only and copying it to your existing cs2d folder)

just replacing the exe file erased your skins? thats 100% impossible.

Even the installer shouldnt overwrite the SKINS.
As long as he didnt overwrite the original ones.
Or did I get it wrong now?
additional files added to the folder stay untouched of course. settings and Lua scripts stay untouched as well.
so people who use custom skins/sounds should either make a backup or they have to use the zip version to only overwrite the files they want to be changed.
That's my solution to this.
