Is there another method of joining cs2d servers (discord or steam for example)? The unreal general server list has gone to hell. Every server is suddenly lagging and none of the good maps are up to play.
Is there something i'm missing? Is server access being sold now via steam or discord ?
what the hell is going on!?
Considering your problems in doghouse jail lagging I have to assume that it's not a problem with the server list but with your own local internet connection.
Also it looks like you have a general misunderstanding of the concept of the Unreal Software / USGN server list here. The USGN server does just one simple thing*: It provides you with a list of IPs. Everything after that only happens between you and the servers. You communicate directly with the game servers to get the ping and details. So if your ping is bad it's technically impossible that this is caused by the USGN.
*) of course it also does the account login stuff but that's not relevant here.
there were times with more players but this looks fine to me ping-wise
so i would see the same exact server list if i installed steam or joined via discord? i only use the server method you are showing above. is this what everyone else uses?
@ Terminator11169: Doesn't mattet if you use Steam or USGN - CS2D Edition. Both of them are using server list which is downloaded from USGN server and this has NO AFFECT to gameplay ping to ALL SERVERS.
Just to confirm this:
yes, same server list for Steam and Non-Steam version (both are using the U.S.G.N. - Steam does offer its own server list technology but I wanted to show the same list to everyone)
yes, this is the only server list (as far as I know - in theory third parties could provide their own list easily but people would have to change their CS2D config manually). Everyone is using this one.
Also, once again:
This list or the way you retrieve the list has NO (0, none) impact on your ping/latency/gaming expierence once you joined a server. The way you retrieve the list also does NOT affect the pings which are shown in the list because these pings are calculated by pinging the individual servers in the list directly (it's a direct you <-> server connection and NOT something like you <-> USGN <-> server).
So no matter HOW you find or join a server: It does NOT affect your ping/latency on/to the game server you want to play on. The only parties responsible for your ping/latency on a CS2D game server are the game server itself and you (and everything in between but as stated above the USGN/server list is NOT in between and does not affect your ping)
