to be honset, if counter-strafing was a thing on cs2d the skill gap would be much fair for both newbie and good players, and i'm also saying this just to make the game more intresting and fun to master

Never heard that term before either. I read that it's a technique to have better aim precision when strafing?

Are you aware that movement in CS2D - by default - doesn't even affect accuracy? Therefore adding counter-strafing doesn't really work. Also I don't see how this would make any skill gap more fair. It would increase the gap and hence make the game more difficult to play for newbies and make pros even stronger. This is actually something I don't want to happen.

Or do I misundertand something? If so: Can you please clarify what exactly you are talking about?

@user DC: Right. In CS2 anyway there is some form of acceleration to your movement so when you release the movement keys you don't just instantly stop. Hence "counter-strafing": Moving in the opposite direction to exert acceleration in the other direction so you can reach 0 velocity sooner (which is the point where your shots in those games become the most accurate).

In CS2D I don't believe you have movement acceleration so you just pull off perfect "counter-strafes" without much thought into it...

So yeah question becomes "Does CS2D really benefit from adding movement inaccuracy and movement acceleration when it's far past its glory days"?

Ah I see thanks for the clarification. You're right: CS2D's movement speed acceleration and deacceleration is instant.

@user QQ44: I'm sorry but I don't plan to make such major changes to key systems. Also, as already stated in my previous post, this would INCREASE the gap between newbies and pros and therefore is something I don't want to do.

One of my key goals with CS2D's design always was and still is to make it a fun and easily accessible game where also newbies have a good chance to get some kills and enjoy it.

It's pure nonsense. Instant response is used in games like valorant which is more successful than cs lol. And nonsense it is because as said increases the difference between beginners and pros. But also makes the system pay to win. People with magnetic keyboards or just snap tap technology will have an advantage over those with normal mechanics where the click response is many times longer.
